Shame the Banks

March 30, 2010

A new website has popped up on the radar of financial regulators: shamethebanks.org.

This new site was recently featured in a Huffington Post article by its creator, Richard Zombeck, who celebrated its success.  “The content on the site has received over 13,000 hits and continues to gain momentum.”  The content of the site includes blogs, shared stories, recent news, and material to help consumers.  Zombeck pointed to the discrepancies between what banks say and what they do as just one of the reasons Shame the Banks was needed, “There is little confidence among homeowners or economists that the bank will follow through.”

AFFIL Ally Denise Richardson is mentioned in Zombeck’s article, and mentions that she is glad to see another place for consumers to gather, share their experiences, and blog about useful resources.

You can also share your story on AFFIL’s website by clicking here.

Thank you for your work here and for mentioning our website! As a person who has been struggling for 15 months in loan mod hell with JPMorgan Chase, http://www.shamethebanks.org was and is a place where I believe I can help make a difference. Linking with your site and others like ours, I am hoping that we can work together to battle the Wall Street power before it is too late. Again, thank you!

Thank you very much for your commitment to fairness in lending and for your promotion of shamethebanks.org. As a blogger and contributor to this site I am excited on the amount of traffic and links that we have received from others that are struggling in this housing crisis with little help from any of the Government Agencies.
