Tell Congress to create a Consumer Financial Protection Agency
July 29, 2009
How important is it that Congress creates a Consumer Financial Protection Agency?
Important enough that killing the proposal is the new number one priority on Wall Street. But we have something that they don’t: a vote.
Rep. Barney Frank, Chairman of the House Financial Services Committee, emphasized the importance of mobilizing voter power in this recent interview with Rachel Maddow:
“If every one of [your viewers] calls his and her US Representatives and Senator and says ‘Don’t you dare come home without a consumer [protection] agency at the end of the year,’ Then we’re gonna win.”
Let’s prove him right. Call or e-mail your elected officials today, and tell them that we need a strong and effective Consumer Financial Protection Agency.
