Credit card debt is less of a problem in Montana than the rest of the nation. The median amount of revolving debt (95 percent of which is credit cards) per borrower in 2006 was $1,473 — 38th highest among the 50 states — according to Americans for Fairness in Lending, an advocacy group that supports more regulation of the industry.
