Credit Card Victory in Congress!
May 20, 2009
Today the House of Representatives voted 361-64 to pass the first restrictions on the credit card industry in our nation’s history. The House passed the Senate’s stronger version of the bill, and now it heads off to the White House for the President’s signature. The White House has indicated that President Obama will sign the bill on Friday.
This strong legislation is a great victory for consumers, and a big loss for the banks who fought hard against it. Congratulations everyone!
