NCLC: Abuses in Used Car Sales and Financing Are Harming Consumers
The National Consumer Law Center is calling on Congress and the states to better protect consumers from abusive practices related to used car sales and financing. A new report, Fueling Fair Practices: A Road Map To Improved Public Policy For Used Car Sales And Financing (PDF), explains the abuses working families face securing reliable cars, which are crucial for family stability. Buying a reliable, quality used car for a fair price is nearly impossible for America’s working families who often fall victim to unfair financing ploys, deceptive sales practices, exorbitant fees, and fraud, according to a report released today by the National Consumer Law Center (NCLC).
