Senate Hearing Today: Consumer Protections in Financial Services: Past Problems, Future Solutions
March 3, 2009
Senator Dodd is holding a hearing today to discuss establishing a “Consumer Credit Satefy Commission,” an idea originally proposed by Professor Elizabeth Warren. We hope Senator Durbin will introduce legislation to this effect soon, following up on legislation he proposed last year. Visit Ed Mierzwinski’s blog for updates on the hearing.
Consumer advoctates who are testifying include Ellen Seidman (Senior Fellow of New America Foundation, Executive Vice President of ShoreBank Corporation) and Pat McCoy (George J. & Helen M. England Professor of Law, University of Connecticut School of Law).
